A day lived inside an elegant villa in Sierra Blanca, Marbella

You wake in the master suite, high above Marbella on Europe’s southern edge, Spain’s Costa del Sol. Pale Mediterranean light pours through black-framed French windows, brushing the cool, veined marble floor.

The master suite bed is tailored in a quilted taupe cove

rlet; the headboard is upholstered and flanked by sleek built-in night tables. Two polished copper pendants hover like warm suns, reflecting the greenery outside. Sheer drapery moves almost imperceptibly with the sea breeze. Through the wrought-iron balustrade, palms rise against the horizon and the curve of the coastline draws the eye toward the glittering water.

Step into the ensuite: a calm palette of sand and limestone. Textured wall tiles ripple like wind over dunes; a frameless glass shower with rain head and handheld sits opposite floating oak cabinetry. Twin vessel basins rest on a broad timber top; an illuminated mirror gives gallery-even light. The fixtures are spare, wall-mounted, exact. Everything feels quiet and deliberate. Stone underfoot, steel handles cool to the touch, the soft hiss of steam, morning ritual sorted.

On the main level, the chef’s kitchen runs like a studio: two islands on a glossy stone floor, one for prep with integrated induction and downdraft, another for plating and conversation. Cabinetry is lacquer-smooth, flush, with discreet lighting tracing the plinths. A line of pendant glass drops above the breakfast table catches the sun. Slide the doors and you’re on the covered terrace, a colonnaded loggia with arched openings framing the mountains of La Concha to your left and the Mediterranean to your right. Deep-cushioned outdoor lounges gather around black circular tables; the ironwork of the curved balcony scrolls in classic Andalusian patterns. Lunch stretches, as views do.

The family/TV room holds the afternoon: low, generous leather sectionals in charcoal, a monumental screen mounted above a walnut credenza, contemporary art with a hit of gold leaf bringing warmth to the cool palette. Black-trimmed windows set a rhythm along the walls, greenery layered beyond,

pines, palms, clipped hedges—privacy without losing the view.

Down at garden level, the pool terrace feels resort-private, edged by lush Mediterranean planting—citrus, bird of paradise, mature palms. Water shows a perfect cobalt against the villa’s creamy façade and terracotta roof tiles. The architecture reads Mediterranean classic refreshed: symmetrical masses, tall French doors, Juliet balconies, wrought-iron detail, and crisp stucco kept bright for the sun.

Back upstairs, another bedroom turns toward the sea; sunset throws long bars of light across the marble and bedspread. The copper pendants deepen to rose-gold, and Marbella’s lights begin to seed the coastline below. Doors open to the terrace; the air is warm, faintly saline, with garden notes rising as night settles.

After dinner, the sauna’s cedar warms the skin; the steam room slows the mind. The house moves with you—lights dim, doors glide, everything in its place—until the only thing left is the hush of the hillside and the line of the horizon.
